Some architects dare to think outside the box. Like award winning, London based Plasma Studio Architects. Their Swiss project Esker Haus is a self-contained residential unit placed on top of an existing house from the 1960s. The top floor of the house is formed by a series of steel and timber frames that deform, to recreate the smooth hillsides of the surrounding dolomites. Enfolded planes creat a series of ever-changing perspectives and spatial constellations. The exterior geometry is reflected in the interior spaces flow through the open plan.

Architecture to Love or Hate

Note the series of drawers and flaps that makes up the storage under the generous staircase leading from the entrance floor down to the living room.
